Brain Fog
Ever had episodes of forgetfulness, heavy head, mental fatigue, or difficulty focusing? This is a condition commonly known as Brain Fog. According to TCM, brain fog can be associated with stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, hormonal imbalances, or even excessive use of electrical devices, such as phones and computers. When a person is exposed to such conditions regularly, imbalances within the body occur, leading to Qi stagnation and blood deficiencies within the body's organs.
For example, when Qi is weakened, due to stress or poor diet, dampness accumulates, causing heaviness in the head/body and a decrease in mental clarity. On the other hand, when Heart Qi and Blood deficiency occur, anxiety and forgetfulness usually follow. It is important, therefore, to maintain a balanced diet, avoid fatty, oily, and sugary foods, reduce stress, and give time to activities that allow the body to relax.
Other ways balance can be brought back is through acupuncture and herbs, as well as ensuring that you avoid eating late at night.
