Acupuncture

Treatment programmes are recommended following your initial consultation and diagnosis. Treatment sessions are available in 30-minute or 60-minute formats depending on your treatment plan.

Acupuncture is an ancient method of treating illness by balancing the flow of energy (or Qi) in the body. It is believed to have originated in China around 3000 years ago and was described as a structured system of diagnosis and treatment in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine around 100 BC (NHS-UK).

Using the principles of this ancient knowledge, a comprehensive treatment plan (which can be combined with other therapies) is designed to treat the body as a whole. By focusing on the root cause of the problem, the individual is brought into better balance, allowing them to achieve complete harmony of mind and body.

Our practitioner integrates several acupuncture systems including:

• Classical Chinese medicine acupuncture
• Distal channel-based acupuncture (Balance Method and Tung style)
• Scalp acupuncture
• Abdominal acupuncture
• Auricular acupuncture

Different acupuncture methods are selected according to the patient’s diagnosis and treatment goals.

Many conditions respond best to a short course of regular treatments. For this reason, acupuncture is often provided as a structured 5-week treatment programme.

Many conditions respond best to a short course of regular treatments. For this reason, treatments at the clinic are often provided as structured programmes over several weeks.

  • This programme is suitable for patients who require shorter follow-up acupuncture treatments after an initial consultation.

It is often recommended for conditions such as:

    • Musculoskeletal pain
    • Headaches or migraines
    • Neck, shoulder, or back tension
    • Stress-related symptoms
    • Mild digestive disturbances

Short, focused treatments help regulate Qi, reduce pain, and support steady improvement over a structured course of care.

This option is generally best suited for follow-up treatments or patients with more localized conditions.

  • This programme provides longer treatment sessions, allowing for a more comprehensive approach to care.

It may be recommended for patients experiencing:

    • Chronic or complex health conditions
    • Fatigue or burnout
    • Digestive disorders
    • Hormonal or women’s health concerns
    • Stress, sleep disturbances, or nervous system imbalance

Longer sessions allow time for a full treatment approach, which may include acupuncture combined with other traditional Chinese medicine therapies such as cupping, gua sha, or herbal guidance where appropriate.

This option is often recommended for patients beginning treatment or those with more complex patterns of imbalance.

Many conditions respond best to a short course of regular treatments. For this reason, treatments at the clinic are often provided as structured programmes over several weeks.

Cupping is a traditional therapy used in Chinese medicine to improve circulation, release muscular tension, and support the movement of Qi and blood through the body.

By creating gentle suction on the skin, cupping helps to relieve stagnation, reduce muscle tightness, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Cupping is commonly used to support conditions such as:

• Neck and shoulder tension
• Back pain and muscular stiffness
• Sports-related muscle fatigue
• Respiratory congestion
• Stress-related tension patterns

Techniques used in clinic

Our practitioner is trained in several cupping methods including:

• Dry cupping
• Fire cupping
• Moving cupping
• Wet cupping (performed within a clinical framework)

Wet cupping is performed using sterile techniques and appropriate clinical hygiene procedures.

Cupping may be used as a stand-alone treatment or integrated with acupuncture and other Chinese medicine therapies where appropriate.

5 Week Herbal & Acupuncture Programme

Chinese herbal medicine is at least 3,000 years old, although the oldest known written source of Chinese medicine is the Huangdi neijing (The Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic) from the 3rd century BC. (Britannica)

Throughout this long history, many practitioners have accumulated a wealth of knowledge about herbal medicine to treat a variety of ailments and diseases, to achieve the perfect balance between Yin and Yang.

Our herbal medicines are made from the highest quality ingredients. From "seed to shelf", we ensure the purity, safety and potency of our herbal medicines by adhering to good manufacturing practice standards. We source farmers who make it a priority to follow environmentally sound agricultural principles, and who regularly test both soil and water to ensure quality and safety from contamination. In selecting our herbs, we protect the earth's natural resources by not using any endangered or protected wild species. Testing for pesticides, heavy metals, fungi, mold, and bacteria is done to ensure purity and safety. Finally, we do not use genetically modified products, which ensures the purity of the product.

Herbal prescriptions are prepared and dispensed by licensed UK and EU pharmacy partners operating under recognised Good Agricultural (GACP) and Good Manufacturing (GMP) standards.

Each batch undergoes independent testing for heavy metals, microbial contamination and authenticity.

All products are temperature-controlled, lot-tracked and fully traceable from origin to formulation.

Dispensary partners operate within recognised EU and WHO herbal quality frameworks and HACCP-based safety systems.

Care is delivered digitally for educational and wellbeing purposes and does not replace medical diagnosis or emergency treatment.

Ear seeds can be a useful option for people who prefer a non-needle approach. Ear seeds have been used for over 2,000 years and treat the body as a whole, as well as helping with body diagnosis.

Seeds from the Vaccaria plant (also known as cowpea) are placed in specific areas of the ear and left in place for a few days.

Like acupuncture, they stimulate the area to open, renew, strengthen and support. The conditions that can be treated this way are as diverse as acupuncture:

Women’s health issues

Men’s health issues

Fatigue (mental and physical)

Anxiety, depression, excessive worry, etc.

Pain, circulatory problems

Acne, Skin Problems

Treatment approach

Auricular acupuncture is based on the understanding that the ear reflects the entire body through a system of reflex points.

By stimulating these points, treatment aims to support the body's natural regulatory processes and reinforce the broader treatment plan.

Auricular Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture

  • What this therapy is for

Auricular acupuncture and ear seed therapy are commonly used to support regulation of the nervous system and to reinforce the effects of broader Chinese medicine treatment.

They may be recommended for people experiencing:

    • Stress, anxiety, or nervous system tension
    • Fatigue or burnout patterns
    • Sleep disturbances
    • Hormonal or menstrual imbalance
    • Pain conditions or muscular tension
    • Skin concerns or inflammatory patterns

Ear seed therapy may be particularly helpful for individuals who prefer a gentle or needle-free approach, or as a way of continuing stimulation between acupuncture treatments.

    How it may be used

Auricular therapies may be provided in several ways:

As a standalone supportive session for clients seeking gentle regulatory support.

As part of an acupuncture programme, where ear seeds are used between treatments to help maintain therapeutic effects.

Alongside cosmetic acupuncture treatments, where ear points may be used to support circulation, stress regulation, and overall facial health.

The specific points selected are determined according to your Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis and treatment goals.

Many conditions respond best to a short course of regular treatments. For this reason, treatments at the clinic are often provided as structured programmes over several weeks.
